Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana's christening will take place in a private ceremony next month, Kensington Palace announced on its official Twitter page on Friday.
The newborn daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, will be christened on July 5 Sunday at St. Mary Magdalene Church on the sprawling Sandringham estate of Queen Elizabeth II.
Princess Diana, Charlotte's late grandmother, was christened in the same church and was born in the Sandringham estate in 1961, according to the Associated Press.
It is speculated by many royal watchers that the couple chose July 5 as the date of the christening so that it will occur before the queen takes off to Balmoral as part of her yearly summer holiday.
Charlotte will be two months old by the time of her christening unlike the royal babies before her, including older brother Prince George, who were christened at three months.
Additionally, the location of her christening will also be different to that of her brother, in that hers will be in Norfolk instead of London, according to Hello! Magazine.
