Drake Bell has learned a valuable lesson! The former Nickelodeon is apologizing after an insensitive tweet he posted about Caitlyn Jenner.
After making her debut on the cover of Vanity Fair Magazine, Bell tweeted, "Sorry...Still calling you Bruce." Although the tweet was deleted, the actor's comments were met with negative backlash from social media users that thought the actor's comments were transphobic and disrespectful.
After deleting the remark, Bell tried to clarify his comment and added, "That's bravery."
Bell, who is known for being outspoken and picking fights with social media users and celebrities via Twitter, has apologized.
In a Twitter post, the 28-year-old actor wrote, "I sincerely apologize for my thoughtless insensitive remarks. I in no way meant to hurt or demean those going through a similar journey. Although my comments were made in innocence, I deeply regret the negative effect they've had on so many."
During her Vanity Fair interview, Jenner said she understands that some people might be confused about her transition and said she is not sensitive about people using the wrong pronoun to define her.
"I don't really get hung up. A guy came in the other day and I was fully dressed - it's just habit, I said, 'Hi, Bruce here,' and I went, 'Oh, f--k, it ain't Bruce!'" Caitlyn recalled. "I was screwing up doing it."
