Glory Johnson Pregnant: Johnson Expecting First Child With Brittney Griner, Missing Upcoming WNBA Season

Glory Johnson, a forward for the WNBA's Tulsa Shock, announced Thursday that she will not be playing in the upcoming season because she has a bun in the oven.

The basketball player announced the news on her Instagram account - literally with a picture of a bun coming out of an oven.

The baby announcement comes just one month after Johnson married girlfriend, Phoenix Mercury star center Brittney Griner, after a highly publicized domestic violence incident between the couple.

After announcing the pregnancy, Johnson made a statement through her team, confirming that she is going to be out for the season.

"It has always been a dream of mine to start a family with someone I love," Johnson said in the statement. "Being a professional athlete that plays year round, there is never a perfect time to get pregnant without putting my career on hold. The entire process, from learning our fertility options, to making sacrifices necessary nine months before the child is born, is merely preparing me to become a great wife and an even better mother."

It's unclear how far along Johnson is with her pregnancy.
