While President Obama had some disparaging remarks to make about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, their wealth, success and its relation to the American Dream, Kardashian clan matriarch Kris Jenner was quick to defend her daughter on her talk show "Kris," the Huffington Post reports, calling her daughter the "hardest working young lady" in Hollywood.
"Kids weren't monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success," the President said during a recent interview with MarketWatch. He explained that the insane amounts of celebrity wealth children are now exposed to may give them unrealistic expectations about their own futures, and cause them to lose sight of what's important in life.
Kris Jenner was quick to fire back against the President's remarks, of course, always one to defend her family.
"It's really great that people aspire to get a great job ... but I wasn't aware that you could only set the bar so high and that we could only dream so big," she said after quoting President Obama's comments on her talk show. "I was taught: Dream big, work hard and you could have whatever you wanted."
As allegedly the President critiqued Kardashian and West of living in a 10,000 square foot home, Jenner responded: "I bet the President has some friends with 10,000 square foot houses and that he wouldn't mind going over there... when [he was] asking them to have a party for [him] while [he was] campaigning for dollars to run for president."
In addition, Jenner defended her daughter and West by pointing out their hard work ethics and drive to succeed in all of their endeavors.
"I find it so odd that he's picking on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Well, Kanye West, first of all, doesn't go on vacation. Ever," Jenner said. "And Kim Kardashian is the hardest-working young lady in the world. She never sleeps, she never stops, she never slows down and works so hard for what she's got."
While Kanye West certainly started from the bottom, so to speak, Kim Kardashian did have a leg-up already by being the daughter of the late Rob Kardashian, O.J. Simpson's friend and defense attorney. Nonetheless, she and her fame-loving family did and continue to seek a business angle in every aspect of their lives, as the name "Kardashian" has quickly become a brand that extends to Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian's boyfriend Scott Disick and of course, Kardashian's new baby girl, North "Nori" West.
