"There's an organization responsible for more terrorism plots in the United States than al-Qaeda, al-Shabaab and ISIS combined: The FBI. How? Why? In an eye-opening talk, investigative journalist Trevor Aaronson reveals a disturbing FBI practice that breeds terrorist plots by exploiting Muslim-Americans with mental health problems," according to TEDTalks.
Trevor Aaronson is the co-founder and executive director of the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting and a contributing writer at First Look Media's The Intercept. His recently released book is called "The Terror Factory: Inside the FBI's Manufactured War on Terrorism." Aaronson's book "reveals shocking information about the criminals, conmen and liars the FBI uses as paid informants, as well as documents the extreme methods the FBI uses to ensnare Muslims in phony terrorist plots-which are in reality conceived and financed by the FBI," according to the author's webpage.
During his TEDTalk, Aaronson discussed the Federal Bureau of Investigation's habit of paying informants and preying on the mentally ill, broke and unstable. Aaronson said he has proof that the F.B.I. sets up Muslim criminals, but the "war on terror" is really just "Hollywood."
After Aaronson's talk, a question-and-answer session follows. The F.B.I. has not commented, Aaronson said, but Aaronson maintained that the agency made it possible for the Islamic State to make its way into Syria.
