Amazon Hiring Developers For Its Own PC Game

Amazon definitely has plans as a game developer, and thus far these plans have been limited to mobile devices.

However, it appears that these plans are about to change. Amazon Game Studios has revealed in its job listing on Gamasutra that it is looking for qualified individuals for what it describes as an "ambitious new PC game project using the latest technology," according to IGN.

The e-commerce behemoth already has a team that includes creators of games like "Portal," "World of Warcraft" and "Bioshock."

"Our team in Seattle has worked on a lot of other great titles like Half Life 2, Left for Dead, Dota 2, Halo, Infamous, Shadows of Mordor and The Last of Us," the job listing mentioned.

There are 26 open positions advertised on Gamasutra, while the other openings are listed on the Amazon jobs website. In addition to game developers, the company is also recruiting artists, tool/platform engineers and other development positions with prior experience with 'AAA' games, PC Gamer reports.

It is still unclear whether Amazon is ready to talk about its future gaming plans, but the job listings indicate that the company is willing to dish out at least a little bit of information. There is a possibility that Amazon will reveal more details at the E3 video game conference, which kicks off on June 16 in Los Angeles.
