NASCAR driver Danica Patrick was doing really well until she crashed in her most recent race.
On Sunday, Patrick was in 11th place in the Axalta "We Paint Winners" 400 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa., until she crashed into the wall during lap 134 with just 26 laps to go, according to Fox News.
Her No. 10 SHR Chevrolet crashed into the wall, but the crash was not severe enough to cause any major damage to her or her car. As she drove away, her back right tire came apart and eventually went flat, sending the car into another wall. That time it did hit the wall hard enough to cause some significant damage to the back of the car.
Once she was able to get her car to pit road to get it fixed, she came back into the race, only this time in 33rd place.
Shortly after she returned to the track, a different tire went down and sent her sliding. That time, she did not make contact with anything and she was able to maintain control of her vehicle, not affecting anyone else in the race.
"I was trying the best I could to get back into the top 10," she explained. "And the car just hopped the wall. We were having a great race, and I hate that I wrecked our day."
Patrick dropped all the way down to the 37th spot by the time the incidents were fixed. She did not finish in last place, though, since there were 43 drivers racing that day, according to The Inquisitr.
Despite the crashes, she still holds the record for the most top ten NASCAR finishes for a female driver.
