Lamar Odom is still fighting for his life in a Las Vegas hospital after he was discovered unconscious at a Nevada brothel on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Odom checked into the Love Ranch last weekend, where he was described as "tired" and talked about the tragic deaths of his mother and two best friends, reported NBC News.

Odom, 35, lost his mother at a very young age and was raised by his grandmother. The former Los Angeles Laker also recently lost his two best friends, Bobby Hayward and Jamie Sangouthai, within weeks of each other this past June. Heyward died of a drug overdose, and Sangouthai passed away from a flesh-eating disease that was caused by intravenous drug use, according to People. Sangouthai was the best man at Odom's wedding to "Keeping Up with the Kardashian" star Khloé Kardashian and was frequently featured on Odom and Kardashian's spin-off series "Khloé & Lamar."

"He did talk about losing two best friends recently that did affect him ... his mother's death did affect him, he did speak about that again on Sunday," Love Ranch worker TJ Moore told NBC News. "His mother's death did have a great affect, and so did his best friends - and I think those were real recent, this past summer if I remember right."

Sangouthai's father Guillermo Castillo opened up to the New York Daily News about how crushed Odom was when his son died. Castillo said the pair were incredibly close and "couldn't live without each other." He also said that he thought Odom and his son had a "death wish."

"They were so close. They wouldn't even go to the bathroom without asking the other. They couldn't live without each other," he said. "They went through a lot together, very powerful and beautiful times together."

Odom's condition has not gotten any better or worse since he arrived at the hospital Tuesday.
