If you've been keeping up with our superhero movie coverage then you are well aware of how excited we are for David Ayer's "Suicide Squad." The film will introduce moviegoers to a darker side of comic book films and reintroduce fans to the iconic Joker character by way of Academy Award- winner Jared Leto. Yet despite a fantastic looking trailer being released at San Diego Comic-Con this summer, we still don't know much about the movie's plot.

Until now, that is. DC Comics, in conjunction with Warner Bros., has released a full synopsis for the movie. Check it out below.

The synopsis reads as follows:

"It feels good to be bad...Assemble a team of the world's most dangerous, incarcerated Supper Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government's disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose. However, once they realize they weren't picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it's every man for himself?"

Interesting, no?

The line about an "enigmatic, insuperable entity" could be a reference to Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), who has been rumored to be the Big Bad of the film. Along with her and the Joker, "Suicide Sqaud" will also feature Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Boomarang (Jai Courtney) and a handful of other colorful characters from DC Comics' rouges gallery. The film will be one of the more unique entries into the growing DC Extended Universe.

"Suicide Squad" will hit theaters on Aug. 5, 2016.
