Philadelphia Eagles teammates Riley Cooper and Cary Williams fought on Thursday at practice and had to be separated by others, including Michael Vick.

The tussle happened during one-on-one drills at practice. Williams covered Cooper and the two ended up falling on the ground after the pass fell incomplete, USA Today Sports reports. Both men leaped to their feet and began a heated shoving match, with Williams at one point grabbing Cooper's facemask and yanking. Teammates and defensive backs coach Todd Lyght separated the two.

Williams, however, wasn't finished. Moments later he returned, now without a helmet, and pursued Cooper. Williams jawed at the receiver, who seemingly wanted no part of it, and had to be once again separated by teammates, including Vick this time.

Williams then began jawing with Vick, who then had to be pulled away.

It's not the first time Williams has been in a fight at practice, and it's not the first time Cooper has been in headlines.

Williams, who signed with the Eagles during the offseason, reportedly got into an altercation at practice last month with the New England Patriots - it resulted in him getting benched by coach Chip Kelly.

Cooper leaped into the spotlight in July when a video of him using a racial slur surfaced online. Out of all Cooper's teammates, William was the most vocal about the hurt Cooper's video caused.

"This is hard to talk about, man. It's tough, me being an African American and to say that hurts me," Williams said at the time, via USA Today Sports. "It's a derogatory word. I don't know him. I did see the tape. It's disheartening for a guy to say something like that.

"You're angry. There are several other words he could have said. But he used something that was over the top."

Flared tempers and scuffles are common in summer practices. As of now, there's no indication that Cooper's racist video had anything to do with the tussle. Still, it makes you wonder what the sentiments are, overt or not, in the Eagles' locker room.
