It's been several days since Lamar Odom miraculously regained consciousness, and even though he still remains hospitalized, he's making some quick progress considering the circumstances. It'll be a long road to recovery, but he remains strong and is making some serious improvements already.

"Lamar has always been blessed with a tenacious, fighting spirit, overcoming insurmountable obstacles to achieve the impossible," his aunt JaNean Mercer told E! News. "These past few days have been no different. He is defying the odds in his toughest battle to date with God's grace. Each day Lamar is getting stronger and reaching significant milestones in his recovery. We are committed to remaining by his side as a family for our champion, who we love immensely. Your continued prayers and well wishes have been the fuel to keep us going, and for that we are eternally grateful."

She went on to explain that Odom has become much "more alert" and that he is "gaining more strength." Despite all of this great news, he will still need a lot of rehab in order to get his life and physical abilities back in order. The latest on his condition is that he is now able to move his arms and legs, but he has not yet been able to fully stand up, with or without assistance. He remains on dialysis due to kidney failure, but the passing of his swallowing test yesterday was a very promising sign. He has even stopped wearing the oxygen mask and "is doing great with his breathing," a source told E! News.

His estranged wife Khloe Kardashian really has been steadfast throughout this entire thing, as she has not once left his side. He has spoken a few words to her since he woke up on Friday, and this is giving her the hope she needs. "She goes everywhere with him," the source added. "If Lamar leaves the room for testing, she follows."

"Not much has changed since yesterday," another source told Us Weekly. "But he's getting better little by little. He's slowly saying more words...Of course, everything could turn around in a minute."

Following his overdose, several people didn't seem to think he was going to make it, and his quick recovery really is incredible. Apparently, he has even started physical therapy already, according to Daily News. He hasn't had any setbacks, and his breathing, vision and ability to understand conversations are all improving. As for the physical therapy, it will be a test to see whether or not he can walk on his own, but the outcome still remains unclear as it is still very early in the recovery stages.
