Pebble is finally bringing the long-overdue App Store for its popular smartwatch on the Android platform with new partners apps and watchfaces.

Pebble gave iOS users a bit of a head start with its new App Store. But the wait is finally over for Android users, as the smartwatch maker added what it calls Pebble 2.0 on Google's platform. The update brings access to a library of new partner apps and watchfaces, all in one place. The one-stop-shop for all programs needed for Pebble smartwatch comes after weeks of intense testing, but the smartwatch maker says the delay was for the best. The Pebble appstore originally debuted on the iOS platform over a month ago.

"We're excited to announce that the Pebble Android app featuring the Pebble appstore is now available for download from the Google Play store," Pebble said in a blog post, Friday. "It's taken a bit longer than expected, but we wanted our Android users to enjoy the same seamless and delightful experience we recently provided to Pebblers on iOS."

Along with the new App Store for Pebble smartwatch owners, comes a whole new experience. The company introduced apps from new partners including Time Warner Cable, eBay and Evernote. The eBay app lets users add items to their Watch List, directly from the tiny watch screen. Similarly, Evernote app allows access to features like Checklists, Reminders, and Notebooks, as well as reminders and other core features of the cloud-based notetaking service.

Time Warner Cable app for Pebble smartwatch helps Intelligent Home subscribers to monitor and control the activity, right from their wrists. Existing apps from Mercedes-Benz, Yelp, and Foursquare works like they do on iOS devices. The company is currently working on expanding the app portfolio with interesting additions like ESPN.

The Pebble 2.0 can be downloaded from Google Play Store for free, as well as from iTunes for iOS devices. Those who already have the app installed on their devices can simply update the app. The app will work on both original Pebble watch and the new Pebble Steel.
