EA Sports announced Tuesday the inclusion of “Rising Star” mode for “NBA Live 14."
Rising Star will serve as the game’s career mode. You’re NBA career will begin at the EA Sports Draft Showcase which is sponsored by Under Armor. As expected, your performance in the showcase can help raise your stock on draft day. After you’re drafted then you can obtain Rising Star Points to adjust your players. From there the goal is pretty simple—take your player from “Rook” to perennial All-Star.
This is the latest feature released by “NBA Live 14.” The game could be EA Sports final chance to restore faith in its ability to produce a quality basketball game.
The “NBA Live” team released its list of features much sooner than 2K Sports in what was most likely an effort to garner early support.
EA Sports has touted its BounceTek feature as the highlight of its return to the basketball video game world. The new dribbling system is supposed to allow more realistic and smoother ball-handling.
“Up to this point your hand was literally tied to the ball. Ball handling was completely unnatural and absolutely predictable,” said the game’s executive producer Sean O’Brien earlier this year. “With BounceTek we separate the ball from the hand in every single dribbling animation. This gives the player impressive control and authentic responsiveness.”
In addition to the new dribbling system come features such as blocked dunks, up-to-the-hour roster updates, signature moves and team-specific playbooks in addition to others.
“NBA Live 14” will be next-gen console exclusive. The game will be available with the release of the PlayStation 4 on Nov. 15 and the release of the Xbox One at an unspecified November date, according to PastaPadre.com.
