A four-year-old's dead body was found in a trash bag on the shores of a Boston Harbor island last week by a woman who was walking her dog. The little girl, given the name "Baby Doe," was found on Deer Island wrapped in a zebra printed blanket and black-and-white polka dot leggings and had not been reported missing, according to police records, the Examiner reported.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children have created a computer-generated image of the girl with the help of forensic artists, using photographs taken at the girl's autopsy to develop the rendering, according to The Boston Globe.
Baby Doe is believed to be four-years-old. She had brown eyes and brown hair, was three-and-a-half feet tall and weighed slightly over 30 pounds, according to investigators, Fox News reported.
Authorities have also released photos of the blanket and pair of leggings found at the scene. The cause of death has not yet been determined and it is unclear whether her body washed up on shore or was left there by someone.
Authorities are hoping that members of the public will notice a child matching Baby Doe's description missing from their community and come forward. Information that may help authorities can be reported to the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at 617-727-8817 or Winthrop Police at 617-539-5806.
