An Australian consultant was fined in court after he scratched a car of a disabled woman, who had parked her car directly behind the man's car that was parked in her handicap spot.
The woman had left a note at the GoGet Hatchback's windshield wipers that said, "Please call this number and I'll move my car, you inconsiderate prick!"
Matthew Tupper then found the note when he returned to the car. He retaliated by scratching the woman's car using an unidentified object he took out from his pocket, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. A CCTV camera was able to capture Tupper walking towards the hired car, before abruptly returning to the woman's car to scratch it again.
Tupper was able to steer the car out of the disabled spot and then drove away, according to The Age.
Tupper, a native of Potts Point, pleaded guilty to intentionally or recklessly damaging property over the incident before the Downing Centre Local Court on Monday.
Jimmy Singh, Tupper's solicitor had requested the chief magistrate not to record a conviction because Tupper wanted to go to the U.S., where his wife is from, to travel and work, but was rejected.
The chief magistrate then fined Tupper $2,000 as well as ordering him to pay $3,000 to fix the woman's damaged car.
Tupper was with his wife when the incident took place, and she was the one who parked the hired car in the disabled spot. Singh stated that Tupper simply reacted badly when the woman called his American wife an "inconsiderate prick."
"She was blocked from getting out. She's not very good at driving around Sydney. He was angered, and acted very impulsively," said Singh, according to the Daily Mail Australia.
