By now, every single "Game of Thrones" fan on the planet has read countless speculative think pieces and well detailed fan theories about how Kit Harington's Jon Snow will return for the show's sixth season. If you'll remember, everyone's favorite Lord Commander of the Night's Watch was betrayed by his sworn Brothers and stabbed repeatedly in the season five finale "Mother's Mercy."
Fans are holding out hope that their hero is still alive, but what if he really is just plain old dead? It's possible, and even co-star Maisie Williams (who plays the plucky Arya Stark) believes it.
"We saw him get stabbed a lot in the chest, I think that's pretty clear," Willaims said via People Now. "People are really hurt by it, but that's what this show does. If you haven't learned that by now, well, I can't help you.
"Well, if it makes you feel better ... 'Yes, there's hope!'... No, there's no hope."
Williams could obviously be playing coy with viewers, shielding the truth and trying to build up suspense and anticipation (as if she needs to) for season six without revealing a major plot point. After all, showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff as well as Harington himself have said that Jon Snow is dead. Or, she may just not be aware of what lies ahead for Westeros' most sought after bastard. Either way, Jon's mysterious fate will be a major talking point until season six of "Game of Thrones" debuts sometime in 2016.
Man, and we thought the wait for the White Walkers was long.
