"Dancing With the Stars" casting rumors have been kicking up to high gear the closer it gets to an official announcement. The actual cast won't be revealed until Sept. 4 on "Good Morning America" but there have been several names already mentioned to compete for the Mirror Ball trophy.
At one point Farrah Abraham, "Tanning Mom" Patricia Krentcil and Jack Osbourne were rumored to be joining the cast but all three are out of the running. According to TMZ, a source revealed that actress Leah Remini will be joining the cast as well as Valeria Harper.
This would be the 43-year-old's first time in the spotlight following her very public split from the Church of Scientology. TMZ also reports that Harper will also be twirling around on the dance floor next season.
The actress announced back in March that she was diagnosed with terminal cancer and doctors gave her about three months to live. She shocked fans when she disclosed that she has leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a rare type of cancer that can spread to the membranes of the brain.
Doctors told the actress that she wouldn't live past June but a source told the website that Harper is doing fine and preparing for the dancing competition show. The source even revealed that she and her partner, Tristan, have already begun practicing.
Besides Remini and Harper, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Amber Riley from "Glee," Christina Milan and Elizabeth Berkley will be joining the show.
"I feel like I'm a good dancer," Snooki said back in a March interview Star magazine reports. "I've got this new body. I would do it in a heartbeat."
Snooki's "Jersey Shore" costar Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino was a contestant on Season 11 of the show with pro Karina Smirnoff.
