Seth Rogen and Zac Efron had everybody laughing with their 2014 smash hit "Neighbors," and now it looks like Chloe Moretz will be joining them for the sequel which will hit theaters May 13, 2016, Variety exclusively reported.
Moretz is mainly known as one of the stars of the "Kick Ass" movies as well as her roles in "The Equalizer," "Carrie" and "If I Stay." This sequel will be the first comedy for the 18-year-old actress.
The original, which unexpectedly earned $269 million in worldwide grosses, revolved around a couple, Rogen and Rose Byrne, who is also returning, as they move next door to Efron's fraternity. The plot for the new movie is unknown, and it is unclear what role Mortez will have.
Nicholas Stoller is back on board to direct the Universal film while Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver will be producing it under their Point Grey Pictures banner. Rogen is also one of the films writers.
As for Moretz, she's excited to be joining this hilarious franchise. "Excited to announce I'll be apart of #Neighboirs with @Sethrogen," she tweeted. "Buckle up people...it's the girls' time to take over...;)"
