Bobby Brown has broken his silence just hours after losing his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.
"Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable," the grieving father said in a statement, according to the E! News. "We thank everyone for the prayers for Krissy and our family as we mourn my baby girl."
The New Edition singer's lawyer also released a statement Monday, saying, "Yesterday Bobbi Kristina Brown took her place in heaven. Krissy fought to get well for months. However, she has succumbed to her injuries."
The 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Brown passed away at a hospice center in Atlanta on Sunday after being found unconscious in her bathtub on Jan 31. She died surrounded by her family, at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Ga.
"Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July 26, 2015, surrounded by her family," the Houston family told E! News in a statement following he death. "She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."
A Brown relative told People that shortly after his daughter's death Bobby began contacting relatives to inform them of the saddening news, adding that he "is holding it together more than you'd expect,"
"He knew it was coming. Of course he's very emotional, but at the same time, he knows that Krissy is in a better place now," the insider said about Bobby. "He is taking comfort in the fact that she's with her mother, and that there will be no more sadness or pain. She is at peace. He knows that, and is taking comfort in that."
Entertainment Tonight reported that Bobbi Kristina will be buried next to her mother who died three years ago and was laid to rest on Feb. 19, 2012. A source claims that after Bobbi Kristina's funeral service in Atlanta her body will be flown to New Jersey in order to be buried next to her mother.
Houston's official fan page posted a tribute to the aspiring singer following news of her passing, writing, "It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully. The family thanks everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers. As Bobbi Kristina would say: 'The wind is behind me and the sun is in my face.'"
