A Black Lives Matter Conference held at the Cleveland State University quickly turned disastrous as the students began to protest in an act of solidarity against the police, according to Consequence of Sound.
This comes after police officers arrested a 14-year-old boy for heavy underage drinking while out in public, as previously reported by HNGN. Witnesses, however, alleged that they saw the officers slam the teenager to the ground. The witnesses saw it as an act of police brutality.
Things then took a turn for the worse when police began to pepper spray people after they started to form a block to prevent the police crusade from entering, according to Times Live.
The students were undeterred, however, as they locked arms and chanted the chorus to Lamar's "Alright," which is a song about hope and being able to stand strong despite the difficulties, according to The Independent UK.
Cleveland EMS revealed that there have been no reports of injuries but will remain on the scene, according to Fox 8 Cleveland.
