’50 Shades of Grey’ Movie Cast Rumors: Will the Final Decision for Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele Disappoint Fans?

There have been so many rumors and speculations about who will play the lead characters of Anastasia Steele and Christian in the movie "Fifty Shades of Grey" it's almost hard to keep up with it all. It seems every week there is a new name being thrown into the casting rumors.

There's been several names that have remained as fan-favorites from the very beginning. Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder, Henry Cavill, Alexis Bledel, Emilia Clarke and Lucy Hale have remained at the top of many lists to star as the lead kinky couple but it looks like none of them will actually be cast.

There have been several reports that claim other actors and actresses are getting approached by E.L. James and "Team 50." According to Variety, "Pacific Rim" star Charlie Hunnam is rumored as the new front runner to play Grey.

Variety reports that the 33-year-old actor had said he didn't want the role but reportedly changed his mind. No final decisions have been announced yet but the magazine reports that he had a meeting with executives and producers about playing Grey in the movie.

Some other reports claim Hunnam was never even offered a role. As far as Anastasia Steele rumors are running wild that Dakota Johnson is in the lead. The Wrap said she was a "serious contender" to play the college student.

Johnson got her start as a model and made a success transition to film when she starred in "The Social Network." There was also a rumor that model Cara Delevingne had secretly auditioned for a role in the movie.

At first it wasn't revealed what role she was going after but the Daily Mail broke the news that she had reportedly auditioned for the lead role of Steele. Producers however didn't feel she was a good fit and she isn't being considered anymore.

She could still star in the movie as a supporting character but it's not clear which one.

"It will be Cara's first big screen role, so she's really excited about it and is eager to make sure that she does a good job," a source told The Sun newspaper.

Now the Daily Mail says "Game of Thrones" actress Emilia Clarke is a front-runner to play the college student. With so many casting rumors out there fans are beginning to get upset and worry about who will be picked.

It has rumored that the official cast would be announced after Labor Day.
