Kate Upton 2013 Model Of The Year: NYC Fashion Week Honors Blonde Bombshell Gracing Cover Of Vanity Fair's 100th Year Anniversary Issue

Kate Upton will receive the 2013 Model of the Year award at the 10th Annual Style Awards in New York City on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

The awards ceremony, which will be hosted by Nicole Richie, marks the beginning of New York Fashion Week where fashion's elite gather to show off their work, and the newest trends for spring and fall next year.

Everyone's favorite blonde bombshell's body of work speaks for its. Upton has graced the covers of Sports Illustrated, Vogue, Elle and that just names a few. Iconic photographers such as Annie Leibovitz and Terry Richardson, in which the blue-eye 21-year-old's behind-the-scene video of her photo shoot showcases her natural charm and Cat Daddy dance skills (video below), have photographed the supermodel.

Upton seems like a no-brainer choice for the Model of the Year award, as no model has generated attention like her since Gisele Bündchen. Upton is also featured on the cover of the October issue of Vanity Fair, which is also a special anniversary addition as the magazine celebrates its 100th year in circulation.

"The entire anniversary project has been in the works for a little more than a year," Women's Wear Daily reports. "In his editor's letter, Graydon Carter writes that's how long he and his editors have been assembling the compilation book. In print, the theme takes up much of the front of the magazine - there's a selection of photos from the coffee-table book, as well as the celebrity essays."

For Upton, I would imagine gracing the cover of Vanity Fair for the anniversary issue is a huge honor. The magazine has taken to their website to showcase their fantastic history, including a 20-year period where the publication went under, but was revived by Conde Nast.

"The Web site has only existed since 2004, so it doesn't represent our great history that well. We wanted to take the opportunity to really show online just how incredible the history is," digital editor Chris Rovzar told WWD.
