Kate Mara is rocking a new pixie cut, and while most fans are loving the new look, she has one major fan who disagrees: her father.
The 32-year-old "Fantastic Four" actress was interviewed by radio host Steven J. Rickman with her co-stars Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell when he decided to ask her some awkward questions, mostly about her hair, according to E! News.
"You're way, way hot," Rickman said. "Why'd you cut the hair? Your hair was beautiful. You look great with short hair or long hair, but the long hair was excellent. So, did you cut your hair for this?"
Mara explained that she cut it for a movie, and Rickman then asked her why she would do such a thing, so she told him that they had asked her to. "I'm an actress. I have to be a chameleon," she responded.
While appearing on "Live! With Kelly and Michael" Tuesday morning, Mara went on to reveal that Rickman isn't the only one who doesn't like her new cut, according to E! News. It turns out that her father, Timothy Mara, pretty much feels the same way.
"Yeah, I got a lot of nice things. I go one sort of negative thing said to me," she told hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan. "I text messaged my dad the other day saying 'I miss you' and his response was 'I miss your hair,' so, thanks dad!"
Mara, on the other hand, loves her new style, and so does Ripa. "I don't have to wash it now," she told Ripa, who asked how manageable it has been. "I don't have to brush it. I love it."
Even though she was asked to cut her hair for the role, she was all about it.
"A pixie is something that is a major decision to do; the person has to be prepared," hairstylist Mara Roszak told People. "And she immediately owned it. She has such beautiful bone structure and features, so I knew going pixie would be perfect on her. It's something she's always wanted to do and the response has been amazing."
