George Zimmerman Pulled Over and Ticketed for Speeding (VIDEO)

If George Zimmerman intends to keep a low profile since being acquitted of murder after the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin he might want to start driving a bit more slowly; Zimmerman was pulled over and ticketed for speeding in Lake Mary, Fla., on Wednesday, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Zimmerman was pulled over when a Lake Mary police officer witnessed the former neighborhood watch leader driving 60 miles per hour in a zone marked for 45 mph and pulled Zimmerman over. Zimmerman was given a ticket that comes with a fine of $256 and three points on his license, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"The traffic stop was made. The officer told him why he was being stopped, and Mr. Zimmerman said, 'No problem,'" Zach Hudson of the Lake Mary Police Department said. "He provided his material, driver's license, registration and proof of insurance and the citation was issued and that was it."

If Zimmerman wishes to avoid an insurance rate hike and gaining the three points on his license, when a driver acquires 12 points in Florida their license is suspended, he has the option to take a driver improvement class, according to Reuters.

This is the second time since his acquittal in the controversial murder case that Zimmerman has been pulled over for speeding. Toward the end of July Zimmerman was pulled over in Texas for speeding and allowed to leave with just a warning. During that incident Zimmerman told the officer that he was carrying a concealed handgun; Zimmerman made no mention of being armed when pulled over on Wednesday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Zimmerman's wife, Shellie, was in court last week pleading guilty to misdemeanor perjury for lying about the couple's finances during one of George's bond hearings. Zimmerman was notably absent in the courtroom, a topic that Shellie brought up when discussing the strain George's court case put on their marriage in an interview with ABC News.
