World of Warcraft fans should be pleased to know that, yes, it is official: a new expansion is in their midst. Blizzard introduced this as the Legion at Gamescom, which will hit beta in the latter part of this year. This is the sixth of such expansions and it entails massive new changes and upgrades.
For starters, fans can immediately jump into the trailer before getting to know more of the patch.
Clearly, one of the most notable takeaways in the Legion expansion is the introduction of a new continent called Broken Isles. This has never been played before, although it was cited in Warcraft 3, Gamespot noted. The objective here, if one is concerned about the story line, is to find the Tomb of Sargeras as part of the preparation for the onslaught of a massive demon army. The narration in the trailer actually cites a way to deal with the new enemies, which is the use of a weapon "of their own." This refers to the manner by which players could fight demons through the new Demon Hunter Hero class. "Players that adopt the Demon Hunter class will be able to transform into powerful demonic forms that take on the guise of in-game enemies," according to Engadget.
WoW now also has "Class Order" system that allows players to play within a new champions system. Other changes that would surely delight hardcore gamers include the introduction of 36 artifact weapons for different specializations and they can all be altered according to the players' tastes, PC Gamer reported.
Other changes include a new honor system is also introduced, which let players earn PVP talents, and the increase of maximum level cap from 100 to 110. Blizzard has also improved dungeons, announcing that the changes to be introduced in these areas are designed with better gameplay in mind.
