Hungry Dogs And Cupcakes: Dogs Start A Stove Fire Trying To Nab Dessert

Hungry dogs accidentally started a house fire Sunday while trying to steal cupcakes left on top of the stove. Before the owners left their central Pennsylvania home, they placed a bunch of cupcakes on top of the stove, believing the cupcakes would be safe there until their return. When the group of dogs became hungry, they were unable to resist the sweet treats, and the cupcake-loving dogs knocked off the stove's knobs in an attempt to grab the cupcakes, according to the New York Times. This simple act ignited the stove, causing a small house fire, reported the police in Logan Township, near Altoona, about 85 miles east of Pittsburgh.

When the landlord went by to let the dogs out around 8 p.m., he discovered the small fire on the stove, according to the Inquisitr. The landlord called 911 and firefighters were dispatched. Thankfully, there were no injuries, including the dogs.

The dogs were to blame, according to the Altoona Mirror, and the fire was ruled as accidental.
