The Vampire Diaries: Three Characters That Need to Find Themselves in "The Originals"

Although we’re excited for the “The Vampire Diaries” spin-off, “The Originals,” there are a few characters leaving for New Orleans that many fans feel have some unfinished business in Mystic Falls. Therefore, fans are going to need some crossovers. Here are three characters in “The Vampire Diaries” that need to find their way into “The Originals”:

No. 1—Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig)

I don’t know about you but I was pulling for Matt and Rebekah (Claire Holt) to be together for the better part of last season. It was great to finally see him give him give her a chance. However, I want to know how that played out. During a Comic-Con interview in July, Holt said her character would appear for a short time on “The Vampire Diaries” but only to conclude things with Matt. However, I don’t want to see it end so soon. Also, there are hints that Rebekah will end up with Marcel and that just sounds like a terrible idea for her. C’mon Mr. Donovan, take a trip down to Louisiana.

No. 2—Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola)

Everyone has probably beaten this point to death but I’ll say it again—“Klaroline” needs to happen. Klaus is not allowed to drop a line like the one he did in the Season 4 finale and just go about his merry way. They belong together (at least for a little while) and, quite frankly, I’m tired of seeing Tyler and her together.

No. 3—Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino)

What?! Yup, Tyler’s my third pick. There are so many possibilities the writers will have if Tyler finds himself in New Orleans. Will he join Marcel to get revenge on Klaus and Haley (Phoebe Tonkin)? Will he, for some unknown reason, help Klaus? Or will, he band with Sophie Deveraux (Danielle Pineda) as they try to protect each other from Klaus? This would be a game changer that could surprise fans and add a ridiculous twist to the story.

“The Originals” premieres Thursday, Oct. 3, at 9/8c on The CW.
