"The Voice" is known for bringing on some of the biggest names in the music industry to coach their contestants, and now they're bringing on possibly one of the biggest names of all: Rihanna. With season 9 around the corner, Rihanna is just the latest announcement in their panel of star judges. Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams will be returning to the big red chairs for this season, and Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have also confirmed that they'll be coming back to coach, despite their recent divorce announcements.
Instead of just advising the contestants, Rihanna will play a huge role in advising the judges as well, according to E! News. With these five talented artists all together on one show, it's almost too much to handle!
"We landed Rihanna to be the key advisor to all the coaches this fall," NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said on Thursday at a press conference. "This is one of music's true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers."
People had been wondering if Stefani and Shelton would actually be continuing on the show after their recent announcements, but luckily for us, it turns out we will be seeing them back on the show after all! Stefani, who just announced her divorce from Gavin Rossdale last week, knew she'd be coming back in June, but with her 13-year marriage ending, we couldn't be sure this would remain the case.
"She has been busy and focusing on work," a source told People. Apparently, she and her three co-stars have already made their way back to the Los Angeles set to begin season 9.
Shelton announced his split from Miranda Lambert just last month, but he's back and ready to start filming. One eyewitness noticed that Stefani seemed "sad" on the set of "The Voice," but not Shelton.
"Blake, on the other hand, seems to have moved on from Miranda and is just over it," the eyewitness told Us Weekly. "Neither Blake nor Gwen are wearing their rings."
See how Rihanna, Stefani and Shelton handle whatever season 9 has to throw at them when it premieres on NBC sometime in September!
