Jemaine Clement, one-half of the duo behind HBO's short-lived comedy series "Flight of the Conchords," was very open during an interview with Indie Wire when he was asked if he was sick of hearing fans asking for full-length film version of the show.
"We have actually started writing one," he said bluntly, according to Indie Wire. "But who knows if it will ever be made, we've written some notes for some different film ideas."
Clement is currently doing press for his new film "People, Places, Things" where he portrays the lead character Will Henry, a graphic novelist living in New York City who struggles with becoming a single parent to twin girls, according to IMDB. He didn't hesitate to talk about the possibility of a "Flight of the Conchords" film, but he made it clear that the project is still in the beginning stages.
"We're not down to the stage where we're going, 'the film is going to be like this,' it could be this, this, this, this, this," Clement said.
The HBO series aired between 2007 and 2009 and Clement co-starred along with Bret McKenzie. The premises of the show followed Clement and McKenzie, a folk-rock duo from New Zealand who relocated to New York City to make it big. Clement and McKenzie composed parody songs as "Flight of the Conchords" and released two albums on Sub Pop Records.
