Apple's launch of the iPhone 5S is the talk of the Tech World today, but smartphone users are just as hyped about the new product, which social media has dubbed the "anti-pyscho boyfriend/girlfriend" phone.
The tech giant's newest iPhone will come with a 500ppi fingerprint sensor right in on its home button, which can read your fingerprint no matter what angle you place it on the sensor using the new Touch ID technology.
"Users will be able to simply touch their home buttons (rather than swipe the screen) to unlock their iDevice, but more importantly, Touch ID can be used to authenticate your iTunes purchases," TechCrunch reports.
Though Apple would probably say the new technology is to curb theft, Twitter users have a different idea about the fingerprint scanner.
Leave it to Twitter users to provide techies with a good laugh.
To those who may be concerned about the security of the fingerprint scanner, Apple confirmed your prints will be encrypted and no third-parties will have access to the information.
If you are still creeped out by the sensor, using the fingerprint scanner to lock your iPhone 5S is also optional.
The iPhone 5S will 16GB for $199, 32GB for $299 and 64B for $399 on-contract, and will be released on Sept. 20. It is not available for pre-order.
Apple also announced the iPhone 5S will be the first 64-bit smartphone on the market.
"The PC world made the transition from 32 bit to 64 bit and it took years. Today you're going to see that Apple is going to do it on one day," Phil Schiller, Apple's marketing chief, said during Tuesday's announcement.
