Amy Duggar on Josh Duggar Molestation Scandal: 'It Took Me By Surprise'

It's been three months since news about the molestation scandal surrounding Josh Duggar broke, and it turns out his cousin Amy Duggar was just as shocked as everyone else.

"I didn't know about it," Amy told People. "It took me by surprise. I knew that he did go away for a little bit, but I didn't know why."

When Duggar was a teenager, he molested five different girls, two of whom were his own sisters, Jill and Jessa, and when news broke about the incident, it left Josh no choice but to confess. The parents knew about it when it happened and sent Josh away to therapy, but no matter how close the "19 Kids and Counting" family may be, they kept this information a secret until this year.

Rumors began to start that Amy had also been a victim, but she wanted to make sure everyone knew this was not true. "I was not a part of it at all. I wasn't anywhere near any of that," she said, adding that even though their hit TLC show has been cancelled, she has bigger things to worry about right now. "Honestly I don't even think about it. I think we're all past it."

Amy is currently in the process of planning her wedding to her fiancé Dillon King. The two recently took part in an unexpectedly sexy shoot for their engagement photos. With the Duggars being such a conservative family, these photos came as a surprise to most, but being Jim Bob and Michelle's niece, not daughter, she made sure to point out that their wedding will not be "traditional by any means."

"One of our three engagement photos looks was [sic] a mud fight," she told People. "It was kind of, not scandalous, but a little less than what you'd expect from a Duggar."
