A fiery car crash in the United Kingdom claimed the lives of the two people who were in the vehicle Tuesday. A third person, also thought to have been in the vehicle, has been rushed to a hospital for life-threatening injuries, according to BBC News.
The fatal crash happened at around 3:50 BST on Poppyfields Way in Branton, Doncaster, according to a statement from South Yorkshire Police. Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident, with personnel from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and South Yorkshire Fire currently at the scene, reported Metro UK.
An eyewitness to the fatal incident stated that the car burst upon impact, being engulfed in fiery flames right after it crashed into a house.
"Police have confirmed that two people have died following a collision in Branton earlier today," said a police spokeswoman. "It was reported that a car set on fire car after it was in collision with a house."
Due to the accident, widespread road closures are currently enacted, which are perceived to be in place for some time.
"Doncaster Road has been closed from the junction of Warning Tongue Lane roundabout to New Road at the junction with Whiphill Top Lane," said the police spokeswoman. "The road is expected to remain closed for some time while emergency services, including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, respond to the incident."
Fatal car crashes have involved high-profile people lately, with one of the most notable being Caitlyn Jenner's involvement in a fatal car accident, which was previously reported on by HNGN.
