Street-Artist Banksy released a trailer for his "bemusement park" named Dismaland. The attraction successfully opened last weekend and tickets were instantly scooped up.
The trailer for Dismaland plays as a spoof on destination family vacations, but darker and more morbid. The ad for the park follows a traditional family of four as they adventure to Weston-super-Mare, a seaside resort town in Somerset, England where Dismaland is located, reported Rolling Stone. When the family arrives at Dismaland, a voiceover welcomes them to "the happiest place on Earth," which is a riff on Disneyland's famous catch phrase, according to Time.
"Is there something missing in your life? Do you need to get out more? Then stop what you're doing and come to the happiest place on Earth. This is a theme park like no other," the voiceover continues. "Dismaland. A place where all your dreams come true. So, what are you waiting for?"
The video includes twisted cars, a sculpture of a killer whale being forced to jump through a hula-hoop, a distorted "Little Mermaid" statue and Cinderella's crashed carriage being photographed by paparazzi.
The "bemusement park" Dismaland opened last weekend on Aug. 22. It will remain open until Sept. 27, reported Variety. Check out the trailer for Dismaland below!
