It was reported by TVLine earlier this summer that veteran actor James LeGros would join “Revenge” in an arc playing the role of a priest.
His character has connections to the Graysons which is most likely the reason Emily/Amanda (Emily VanCamp) looks for him.
Executive Procedure Sunil Nayar further discussed the role with the website, TVLine reported Thursday.
“There’s an element to which the nature of him being a priest puts him up against the concept of what is good and what is right and what is the moral thing to do,” Nayar said. “And that, in turn, let’s us examine Emily Thorne’s mandate in a way we haven’t had a chance to do before.”
Hopefully for the priests sake, he is an asset to Emily and not a hindrance—because we all know how much a nuisance she can be to someone’s life if they prove unhelpful or, even worse, get in her way.
Nayar took over the show, heading into the Season 3, from previous showrunner Mike Kelley. While ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee, commended Kelley he feels Nayar can get the show back on the right track, according to MSN Entertaintment.
"I think we stumbled a little bit in the second season, but Mike [Kelley] is one of the great show runners," Lee said at a Television Critics Association panel in August. "What Sunil is bringing to us is a slightly less complicated and a really interesting take. The first episode back -- I don't know how much we can reveal. We're not allowed to reveal anything -- is a fantastic episode starting with a magnificent hook. I do think you are going to see that one enjoying itself in its third season. And we certainly are."
Revenge returns Sunday, Sept. 29 on ABC.
