Bimbo Bakeries, the company behind Sara Lee, Nature's Harvest, Kroger and many other brands, has issued a recall of about 48,000 packages of bread sold in 11 states because they may contain glass fragments from a light bulb at a company factory.
The recall was prompted by a report on Wednesday when a consumer claimed to have found small pieces of glass on the outside of the bread, reported Al.com. Two more reports came in since the first report, but no injuries have been reported.
The recalled bread was sold under the names Sara Lee, Kroger, Bimbo, Nature's Harvest, Great Value and L'Oven Fresh, and they have "best by" dates ranging from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1 and a listed "bakery code" of 1658, according to ABC's Tennessee affiliate WTVC NewsChannel 9.
The recalled bread was sold in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
Bimbo Bakeries is offering a full refund to customers who have purchased one of the recalled products. For questions, contact 1-800-984-0984 at any time 24 hours a day.
