"Nobody loved them," said an Arizona mom who allegedly drowned her 2-year-old twin sons Sunday, according to Fox News. The tragic story unfolded Monday when Mireya Alejandra Lopez, 22, confessed to her crime, as previously reported byb HNGN.
Court documents also said she attempted to drown another family member to death, but was stopped before the child could be harmed.
Lopez, who does take medication for mental health problems, had her bail set at $2 million. She is facing two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder, reported Fox News.
The bodies of the twins were discovered by Lopez's mother, who thought they were only sleeping at first. She attempted CPR techniques to revive the boys once she realized they were not breathing until she heard her daughter in the bathroom and saved the third boy from the same fate.
First responders arrived at the home just before noon Sunday, reported NBC News. The twins were pronounced dead at the hospital.
"We're still pretty early in the investigation. We don't have any conclusions at this point," said Avondale, Ariz., police Sgt. Brandon Busse, according to People. "Anytime you lose two small children, it's tough."
