Season 2 of Homeland ended in complete devastation. Many members of the CIA were killed. Woman and children were killed. Now, the entire country is looking for Brody (Damien Lewis), Saul (Mandy Patinkin) has the task of rebuilding the CIA and Carrie (Claire Danes) will definitely be under suspicion for aiding Brody. With all of that said, here is my Season 3 Wishlist for “Homeland”:
No. 1—A way for them to be together
Hopefully, Brody’s status as a fugitive and a terrorist somehow translates to an automatic divorce between him and Jessica (Morena Baccarin). That way she can marry Mike (Diego Klattenhoff) and they can be a happy family, leaving Brody and Carrie to continue their complicated fugitive/CIA operative relationship. Then everyone’s happy, sorta.
No. 2—Brody really didn’t do this
One of the things about the end of Season 2 is that the writers gave themselves an either/or situation. Either Brody didn’t blow up the CIA building or he did. Hopefully he didn’t because 1—that would put a damper in he and Carrie’s relationship and 2—he’s an asset as a good guy. If they can clear his name, he can come back and help them find the actual terrorist. (That is if it wasn't Abu Nazir [Navid Neghaban])
No. 3—A new bad guy
Hopefully the entire season isn’t spent looking for Brody and trying to guess who is lying. The CIA needs another person to catch so they aren’t always thinking about the most wanted man in the U.S. and us fans don’t get bored with one storyline.
Season 3 of Homeland premieres Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9/8c on Showtime.
