The continuing drama revolving the murder of Sheena Bora, whose corpse was found by police back in 2012, has taken another significant turn, as the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) begins its wait to receive bone samples from the Khar police linked to the high-profile case.
The FSL has already acquired blood samples of Mikhail Bora, Indrani Mukerjea and Indrani's driver Shyamvar Rai, the key players in the brutal murder. FSL scientists are set to run a number of extensive tests on samples from Mikhail and Indrani to fully establish their relationship, according to DNA News India.
JJ Hospital doctors handed the bone samples over to the police on Aug. 28, which include small pieces of skull, ribs, teeth and hands that were endorsed to the hospital back in 2012. Another set of bones belongs to those dug out by Mumbai police last week.
However, the bones have not yet reached the FSL as of Monday evening. After being unearthed by Mumbai police, the samples were sent to Nair Hospital late on Saturday, where a team of 12 tenured doctors immediately started working on the analysis of the bone fragments, reported The Mumbai Mirror.
While the results of the DNA test that is to be done by the FSL can only determine if the samples are related to Indrani in any way, the results are nonetheless a huge leap forward for one of India's most prominent high-profile murders in recent years.
