England's skipper Eoin Morgan, who led his side to a thrilling T20 victory over Australia three days back, expressed confidence that his side will finish Ashes Summer by winning ODI series. England has already defeated Australia in the Ashes test series and T20 match and now hoping to do clean sweep in all three formats.
"It'd be great. (But) I think it's going to be very tough. Certainly, we'll need to be close to our best to beat them," he said, according to Euro Sports.
Morgan also said that the series offers a great opportunity to his younger team mates to get tested against one of the best sides in the world.
"We're at a completely different phase in our development with our team and our squad compared to Australia so it's certainly going to be a good test," said Morgan, according to Sky Sports.
The Aussie team, which holds the world's No. 1 ranking in ODIs, planned to display aggressive bowling in Southampton match.
"The boundaries here in Southampton are quite large so, without having that straight-hit ... and the square boundaries are back even further, those bouncers for both teams are probably going to come into play," Aussie bowler Mitchell Starc said a day before the match, according to Cricket Australia.
