Rumors started going around earlier this week about Rosie O'Donnell and actress Tatum O'Neal dating after a source told Radar that "they are romantically involved," but O'Donnel quickly shut them down.
A rep for the 53-year-old comedian denied that the two had ever been involved, saying "they've been friends for several years since they met in Chicago when Rosie did a show for OWN and Tatum did a docu-series for OWN," according to the New York Daily News.
The rumors began when the two were spotted last month having dinner in New York, as well as at a musical together, according to E! News. A few weeks later, O'Donnell tweeted a link to one of O'Neal's articles about her sexuality, so people started to believe it even more.
While O'Donnell, who divorced her second wife earlier this year, has been open about her sexuality for years, O'Neal revealed she was starting to date women after she and her ex-husband, tennis player John McEnroe, divorced after eight years of marriage.
"I like women," she told People at the time. "I definitely have been dating mostly women recently. I think women are the most amazing creatures on earth. They're gentle, and also more intelligent than the men that I've met recently. I don't have a steady right now, but I look forward to it." As for her sexuality, she said, "I'm not one or the other."
