Monica Foy, a student from Sam Houston State University, posted a tweet about slain Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth that didn't just place her in hot water, it placed her in jail as well.
While Texas was mourning the apparently random execution-style shooting of Goforth, Foy took to Twitter to question the entire ordeal, reported Everyjoe. She tweeted: "I can't believe so many people care about a dead cop and NO ONE has thought to ask what he did to deserve it. He had creepy perv eyes..."
As far as anyone knows, Goforth had no criminal record to speak of and was highly regarded by his family, friends and colleagues.
Within minutes of posting the tweet, it went viral and scores of users began to criticize her on the social media platform. The criticism forced her to delete the offending tweet, as well as her entire account soon after, according to Breitbart.
One user was so upset that he or she did a quick background check and found that Foy had a current warrant out for her arrest, allegedly for a 2011 incident where she punched a former co-worker in the face.
That same day, according to Montgomery County Sheriff's Office spokesman Brady Fitzgerald, an anonymous call came in regarding Foy. After officers checked the system, they found that the accusation had turned out to be true and went to Foy's home to confront her, according to the Houston Chronicle.
By the end of the day, Foy was arrested, although she was released on bond early the next morning on $1,000 bond.
