Cher Slams Miley Cyrus's Dancing and VMAs 2013 Performance With Robin Thicke: 'Do Better, Be Better' (VIDEO)

Legendary singer Cher has had plenty of experience baring her body on-stage, but she still isn't a fan of Miley Cyrus's latest performance at the 2013 VMAs with Robin Thicke, where the "We Can't Stop" singer twerked and grinded on Robin Thicke, E! News reports.

"I don't give a s**t if she comes out naked," Cher told E! News recently of Cyrus's latest antics. "Just be better, do better. Maybe she's thrilled and delighted-everyone's talking about it. And so, that's almost as good as it being great, you know. Especially kind of in this day and age. It doesn't make any difference if you're good. It just makes a difference if people are talking about it."

Miley Cyrus certainly got everyone talking following her hyper-sexualized performance that many found to be distasteful, but it did help propel the 20-year old ex-Disney princess further into the spotlight. She's currently promoting her upcoming album, "Bangerz," a musical departure from the teen pop of her "Hanna Montana" days, set to hit stores Oct. 4. Cher is also promoting her latest album, "Closer to the Truth," which will be available on Sept. 24, though the 67-year old star certainly won't be twerking her way to the top of the charts.

"I don't want to [twerk]," Cher said. "I mean, I could if I wanted to. But, you know, if it looks like that I don't think I'm interested. I've seen other girls do it better."

Cyrus's latest obsession with twerking has been critiqued as her means of appropriating aspects of black culture for shock value. The star has also been criticized for bringing a band of little people to perform with her in Germany and England, stand-up comedian and burlesque dancer Selena Luna having compared her use of little people to blackface, accusing her of bringing them on-stage as "props."

It seems like everyone has something to say about Miley Cyrus and her new image nowadays, though even amid the controversy, her music continues to top the iTunes chart, including her latest single, "Wrecking Ball," the music video for which broke VEVO's record for the most views, in which Cyrus continued to shock and intrigue viewers by appearing naked on an actual wrecking ball and sexually licking a sledgehammer.
