In a Tuesday interview, Hillary Clinton said it was a "mistake" to use a private email server, according to Fox News. "Even though it was allowed, I should have used two accounts. One for personal, one for work-related emails," she said. "That was a mistake. I'm sorry about that. I take responsibility."
Clinton has already submitted more than 55,000 pages of emails as part of an FBI investigation. "As you might guess I've been around a while, lots of attacks, questions raised. I can survive [the investigation] because I'm running to be president, to do what the country needs done," she said.
While she served as President Obama's Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton used a private email server rather than a government server, but because she also used the same account for work and private correspondence, it has created some confusion and spawned various investigations into her activity.
"I do think I could have and should have done a better job answering questions earlier," Clinton said, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Clinton is still the frontrunner in Democratic primary polls, but her numbers are falling. Meanwhile, support for Vice President Joe Biden has been on the rise in the polls. Biden has not stated whether or not he will run for the office of president.
The day before her apologetic interview, Clinton said she would not say she's sorry for using a private email server, according to The New York Times.
