Kpop: Red Velvet Aspires to Be Like Girls Generation, Make 'Dumb, Dumb' Top Music Charts

Hours before the release of their latest music video "Dumb, Dumb," Red Velvet held a comeback preview on Sept. 8, where they greeted the press in pastel-colored doll outfits to answer some questions. The girls talked about their famous sister group Girls Generation and their aspirations for their new album.

"Our wish is to win," said Red Velvet member Wendy, who talked about the hard work and dedication of the group to make their first full-length album "The Red" impressive.

"We hope that this promotion will become one that gets our color out there," Yeri added.

Yeri wants "The Red" to exude Red Velvet's vibe and distinguish the group from the sea of Kpop Idols. The Red has a doll factory theme. The MV tells the story of a teenage girl who becomes awkward whenever she falls in love.

The members were then asked about how they feel while watching Girls Generation activities. The girls said that they wanted to become as natural as their charismatic and very vibrant SM sisters, Kpop Fighting reported.

Red Velvet is said to be close to Girls Generation, especially to Tifanny, who hung out with them once in a coffee shop owned by 2 PM. Red Velvet recently uploaded a video of them singing Girls Generation's "Lion Heart" while traveling in a car. They had fun imitating their sunbae's sexy feline movements, One Hallyu reported.

Red Velvet's lively performance of "Dumb, Dumb" on M! Countdown yesterday, kicked off their string TV show appearances to promote "The Red," All Kpop reported.
