Kpop: Rookie Girl Groups Remind Us Of Their Seniors (VIDEO)

South Korean entertainment industry experts call 2015 a blooming year for Kpop. The biggest group are releasing new hits while new groups are coming out to make a name for themselves.

1. GFriend and Girls Generation

GFriend, a six-member group which debuted last January, is now one of the best female dance groups in Kpop. Their first-ever track "Glass Bead" reminds us of Girl's Generation's "Into the New World."

GFriend is currently promoting their first comeback song "Me Gustas Tu," another innocent, upbeat, danceable track that reminds us of the early Kpop songs, All Kpop reported.

2. April and KARA

Eight years after KARA debuted, fans are missing the sweet and innocent concept that the group pulled-off so well when they were still a rookie group. Thus, KARA's agency, DSP Media, comes up with April. The sweet and innocent six-piece group debuted two weeks ago with "Dream Candy." The song is being compared to their sister group KARA's "Honey."

Fans are loving the pretty and vocally gifted members of April. Some of these girls aspired to become official KARA members during "KARA Project," a reality show where KARA searched for a new member to replace members who did not renew their contracts in 2014. While Jeon So Min and Kim Chae Won failed to become the new KARA member, they successfully debuted as the leader and the main vocalist of April, Kpop Map reported.

3. Minx and Dal Shabet

Dal Shabet's agency, Happy Face Entertainment unveiled a new girl group called Minx. True to their name, the girls of Minx are young, fun, and flirty.

Minx's "Why did You Come to My Home" reminds us the strong vocals and fierce dance moves of their sister group Dal Shabet in "Supa Dupa Diva."

Minx released their version of "Love Shake," a song previously sang by Dal Shabet.

4. Mamamoo and Wonder Girls

Mamamoo debuted with a bang with "Mr. Ambiguous" in June 2014. Their overpowering vocals and dance prowess made the group an instant hit, Sooper Kpop reported.

Mamamoo's back-in-time concepts and bubble gum pop hits remind us of Wonder Girls in their "Nobody But You" days.
