Animal Adoption: Rescue Pet Of The Week Is NYC Cat Emmaline! 'Meet Your Match Feline-ality' Is 'Private Investigator,' ASPCA Says

Emmaline is a white and gray domestic shorthaired cat located in New York City."Emmaline is happiest when she's snoozing in someone's lap! She can be a little shy at first, so she'll need a gradual transition to her new home," the ASPCA says. "Once she's settled, you will find Emmaline is an active and social kitty."

The three-year-old female is an "office foster," according to the ASPCA. "As part of our adoption program, some of our feline friends have the opportunity to live in ASPCA team members' offices," the site reads. "Living in an office allows cats to have a more comfortable and domestic living space, and allows our behaviorists to learn more about each individual kitty's personality and needs. Through the office foster program, we are able to offer adopters a clearer picture of how their new feline friend will adjust to life in a permanent home."

So, what is Emmaline's personality (or as the ASPCA calls it "feline-ality)? She is a "private investigator!" "I'm working undercover to keep an eye on you and your household. You may not even know you're under surveillance," the site states. "I can vanish into thin air if anyone or anything interferes with my investigation. If you need a cat who knows how to stay out of trouble and will always keep your secrets, I just might take your case."

"Feline-alities" help the ASPCA play matchmaker with humans and cats. With descriptions like "party animal," "the executive," "sidekick" and "lovebug," you can get a true sense of the cat's demeanor to ensure a good fit.

To meet Emmaline (or other "private investigators"), call the adoption department in NYC at (212) 876-7700, ext. 4120.

If you do adopt Emmaline, or another HNGN featured rescue pet, be sure to tell us your story! Send photos and anecdotes to k.aquilina@hngn.com. We love happy endings!
