Former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kim Richards pleaded no contest to resisting arrest after an incident where she was kicked out of the Beverly Hills Hotel in April, the Associated Press reported. Richards was sentenced to three years' probation.
Richards was charged with battery on a police officer, public intoxication and resisting arrest after she was kicked out of the hotel's posh Polo Lounge, as previously reported by HNGN. She served a stint in a Malibu, Calif. rehab facility following her arrest. Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Rosa Zavala said that the three years' probation sentence will hopefully ensure that Richards stays sober.
"She will be on probation for three years, so hope is that she recovers," Zavala told Buzzfeed.
Her public intoxication and battery on a police officer charges were dropped as part of her plea deal, according to Buzzfeed. Richards also must serve 30 days community labor, attend 52 Alcoholics Anonymous classes, pay restitution and fines and stay 100 yards away from the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Richards, 50, tried to fight against her community labor sentence, citing a foot injury as the reason why she couldn't do strenuous work, according to TMZ. The judge ignored her arguments.
The former reality star also faces separate charges stemming from a shoplifting case in August, where she allegedly stole about $600 in merchandise from a San Fernando Valley Target, according to the AP.
Despite her legal issues, Richards returned to Twitter after a month-long hiatus following her August arrest. She tweeted an inspirational message just days before her hearing for her April arrest.
"Its a Wonderful Wednesday," she wrote. "Remember to appreciate and love yourself as well as others today."
