Apple came out with the next installment of its flagship smartphone, the iPhone 5S on Friday. Apple Stores were busy with lines out the door almost all over the world. The new smartphone comes with a bevy of new updates, upgrades and revolutionary new features. Below is a list of some of the top features of the new iPhone, courtesy of Information Week.
Speed: Side-by-side comparisons of the iPhone 5S with its predecessor, the iPhone 5 show that the 5S is significantly faster thanks in large part to its new A7, 64-bit processor. The most noticeable benefit of this new bit of hardware comes with the speed with which tasks are completed on the device. It can load iMovie and GarageBand files that much faster as well as several other day-to-day movements people rely on their iPhone for.
Touch ID: Apple's fingerprint scanner is, of course, the most revolutionary new design featured on the iPhone 5S. It houses a biometric fingerprint scanner in the Home Button. The software that controls the scanner is reportedly very easy to set up and walks the user through the process very easily. By storing your fingerprint in the phone's memory, you can use your unique fingerprint to unlock your smartphone as well as make purchases in the iTunes Store and App Store.
Camera: There are many new features with the iPhone 5S' camera. This is due in part to the update that the camera app received with the new iOS 7 software update. However, the iPhone 5S has updated the camera in several ways not the least of which is its ability to determine the best settings and automatically get the best possible shot. It can take better photos in low-light conditions. "Further the accuracy of variables such as white balance, ISO and aperture to get the correct exposure is beyond reproach," writes Information Week.
