The super PAC supporting Jeb Bush has purchased $24 million worth of TV air time for commercial spots that will be broadcast through the end of the year, according to Fox Business.
The PAC, Right to Rise USA, will show a 30-second spot for Jeb. It is already airing in early voting states New Hampshire and Iowa, and will begin broadcasting in South Carolina next week. Bush is currently third in national polls, behind Republican primary frontrunner Donald Trump and second-place neurosurgeon Ben Carson.
"We're moving beyond the earned media phase into more of an air wave where Bush's money advantage can now begin to make a difference in the early state contests," Republican strategist Kevin Madden said, according to CNN. "This ad is an attempt to fill in the blanks for voters on what was actually a conservative record in Florida." Jeb is the former governor of Florida and served in this position during the controversial 2008 election between George W. Bush, Jeb's brother, and then-Vice President Al Gore.
Right to Rise will spend $6 million in Iowa, $12 million in New Hampshire and $4.7 in South Carolina to show the ad, CNN reported.
"Choose a brighter path," the ad says, according to The New York Times. The ad claims to seek to contrast the negativity of Trump against the more positive choice of Bush.
