Daniela Velez-Reyes is facing several criminal charges after allegedly assaulting a fellow passenger and an air flight attendant onboard an American Airlines flight en route from Miami to Chicago. This disruption caused the pilot to have to stop the plane and remove her.
The alleged assailant did not stop at physical assault, but also reportedly locked lips with a flight crew member before punching her in the face. Jim Saviano, a passenger also aboard the plane began recording as Velez-Reyes was escorted out, according to UPI News. Many other passengers took pictures and videos of the mayhem that ensued.
It all began with Velez-Reyes apparently being "disoriented the entire flight," passenger Marian Frendt told News 8. Her state of consciousness could have affected her judgment causing her to act irrationally. Velez-Reyes allegedly began "kicking the seat of the passenger in front of her, and he apparently turned around to complain... and she hit him," Frendt told ABC News.
Velez-Reyes also reportedly kicked a police officer as she was being escorted out of the plane in flex-cuffs. That will probably also be added to her long list of charges. The attacker awaits trial at Marion County Sherrif's Office Arrestee Processing Center in Indianapolis with no current court date scheduled.
